I’ve worn a lot of woody colognes, but the black pepper note in this one gives it an unexpected kick that really sets it apart. Six hours into a long workday and the scent was still noticeable on my collar, which is more than I can say for most stuff I’ve tried.
The vanilla patchouli comes through nicely without being overpowering, and the black pepper gives it just enough edge for evenings out. I sprayed it on my shirt collar before work and could still catch whiffs of the woody base when I got home.
Four hours after one spray on my wrist and the vanilla patchouli is still there, warm instead of sharp. The black pepper hits right at first but settles into something smoother than I expected. This is the first cologne where I don’t feel the need to reapply by mid-afternoon.
